i dont know if its the beauty of art capturing art or the challenge of the low lights or the fact that music is important in my own life, but i really love photographing live music.
i think the line "it pays" is bullshit. never do anything because "it pays" do it because you love it. if you can't have love for the things you spend most of your precious time doing... what's the point?

marali6 says:
"I'm all about Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, so collecting photos from their live performances isn't just a hobby. Jackie Butler's photographic art captures so much more than just a snapshot of time. Her eye for light, motion and drama drag you right into the scene, leaving you wondering what happened after the click of the shutter. It's a pleasure to work with Jackie - even though she's frequently on the road, she'll respond to questions or requests immediately. She's a rare gem."

"Jackie is one of the best most professional photographers I know. Her work is in the Mills College Library's Patti Smith Collection and I am grateful for knowing such a kind, creative soul."

Jerod Harris says:
"Jackie Butler is the greatest! I had the opportunity to share the line with her at a pre-grammy party and she was very respectful and courteous in a group that's known for their rudeness."
