Jaan Al Balushi

Jaan Al-Balushi, born in 1984, currently works as a professional photographer. He has an insatiable thirst for exploring new horizons, and he began his creative pursuits at an early age through painting. After graduating from high school, Jaan continued developing his artistic skills by joining Bahrain Contemporary Art Association while he completing his studies in Information Technology.
Film making and photography soon caught his interest. To further sharpen his skills, he joined the Bahrain Youth Innovation Centre (YIC). He has done two short films, a suspense-horror short film called “The Cell”; and “Media”, a video that takes a comic look at media and advertising; plus other cultural short films. His self-taught photography skills focus on portraiture, fashion and conceptual set-ups.
Extraordinarily multi-talented, he was soon recognized by leading personalities in Bahrain, including His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Ali Al Khalifa, Mr. Art Jones (Director of Media at Ahlia University), Ali Al Riffai and Yasir Waheed.
He continues to share his experience, knowledge and skills to other young people via YIC and other private workshops.
He deeply expresses his gratitude to his family for their continued support every step of the way.
