I am a student of both Physics and Photography who loves them both dearly. I must have a thing for Ph.....

Anyway, I love shooting landscapes but my focus can be short so a dabble in other areas as well.

Nature speaks to me when I go out to photograph it. I suppose the camera is my hearing aid.

It doesn't matter to me if I get a good shot or not, the time I spend out there stimulates my mind and spirit and I cherish it.

Don't get me wrong, I want to be a skilled craftsmen and convey my vision through the photos I take...

...But if the most important result is the perfect shot....

...the enjoyment of the journey is clouded with disappointment...

...Because the perfect shot cannot be obtained.

This is good news though, because the journey should last a very long time if you live for every moment.

The cameras I use:
Nikon D5000
kit 18-55mm lens
Minolta srt201
a whole bunch of lenses

I shot film for a long time, but the Minolta no longer meters properly so I use it for a lot of long exposure stuff. It's all manual, and was a great way to learn the basics of photography.

Digital certainly has it's advantages though and I enjoy my new camera a lot as well. I am still getting comfortable with it and I hope you see the improvement in my stream.

Jeffrey Wallace
