I think of myself as a picture maker, I’m not a wildlife photographer or a landscape photographer…. I like to use light, colour, composition and memorable moments to make a picture that I hope will be good to look at. Because I live in the country the things surrounding me are birds and landscapes, but if I lived in or near a city I would mix it up more, and make pictures from those surroundings too.

I learnt early that the most important things in photography are light and composition. It almost doesn’t matter what the picture is of, if those elements are good. I try to remember that when I’m looking through the viewfinder.

I’ve learnt a great deal from other flickr members since starting here, and some of them must be fed up with my incessant questions, but in return I’ve been able to help newer members when they have similar questions or problems. Its give and take, and that, for me, is one of the best parts of flickr.

I’m a big fan of comments, good or bad, constructive criticism is always welcome so long as its friendly, there’s always so much to learn, and there are many talented people out there to learn from.

Some of my pictures are available to buy at Photo4Me but if you see something in my stream you'd like to buy and its not on Photo4Me I will upload it to there if you mail me. Here's a link to my page:

"When I first saw Izzy's photos I was so impressed I felt very shy about commenting in her stream. Her wildlife photography is stunning and I'm very much in love with her long exposure shots, especially those of the beach in her town. I thought to myself, "Someday, I'll take pictures like Izzy!".

In the meantime, while I pondered about commenting or not, she decided to comment on mine. She has been very sweet and patient with my questions, has always had a kind word about my photography as well as helpful advice and different opinions on what could make my shots be better and given me wonderful tips on how I can become a better photographer. My photography has grown because of her and because I've had her as an inspiration.

    Thank you, Izzy."

"What started off as commenting on another budding Flickr photographer has grown into a real friendship. Izzy's passion and eagerness to learn knows no bounds. In every field of photography she gives her all and produces some stunning work. Always eager to lend a hand, and give an opinion (even if it is rubbish....LOL) on other people's work and is hungry to learn. Go get 'em girl !!!

Her knowledge of flowers has helped me to discover the names of flowers in my own photos and I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you. Keep up the good work Izzy!"
