I like to travel, especially to countries around the Mediterranean. I am a retired transit driver who likes to take pictures and video.
I presently take my photos with a Leica M9 and my old photos are from slides scanned with a Canon FS4000 and taken with a Pentax Spotmatic or my first camera, a rangefinder I cannot remember the name of. I loved that camera, and am developing a similar relationship with my M9.
In January 2011 I spent a weekend in New York City on a photo seminar with two great people, Sori and Jed, both M9 lovers. Our guru for this seminar was Thorsten Overgaard. What he taught me made the weekend priceless.
I have added a SIGMA DP1 to my small collection of cameras and I am now showing some pictures.
For Christmas we got a C-Lux 3 for those instant shots when we need a camera that we can be carried in a shirt pocket. I have just added a Fujifilm X100 to my collection of cameras. It is more complicated than the M9 but I hope to restrict myself to operating it at a very simple level.
Men seem to take pictures that capture a moment in time and work at composition and light. And these are wonderful photographs.
However you will notice most of my contacts are female because so far they are the ones who are using their imagination and creative skills to turn their photographs into works of art. I should add there are some men also doing a great job of also getting their imagination on to the internet.
I am trying to limit my contacts so that I can spend time enjoying their pictures and I would like to thank them for allowing their wonderful art to come to my home. I feel I have selected contacts who are very gifted and creative and their works give me great pleasure, and inspiration.
I love to look at what the imagination can do. Look at what the people listed in my contacts are doing and you will be amazed.
We should all enjoy our trip as passengers of Planet Earth, once a year we travel around the sun together.
