Just a quick and short note about my photography goals in 2011!

1. Equipment (this is the easiest, to BUY things!) Buy a new camera body. Buy a seamless backdrop (white and black). Upgrade to Lightroom 3.

2. Create, design a website dedicated to my photography portfolio with my own top level domain name. (this is going to be tough because it requires focus and attention to come up with a solid and thorough website structure, but first this requires that I establish an identity which first requires that I identify my target market/niche/audience). This is the most difficult but must set a target date to get it done, hmm... say March 1, 2011! There!

3. More experiments on lighting, lighting modifications and lighting setups using existing equipment and ordinary everyday objects. This will be the most fun and lots of ideas already!

4. More training and experiments on post processing and image manipulation, graphic design. Lots of ideas already. I need to set milestones for this so I don't take it for granted, say one experiment per month? Master the techniques and tools, don't depend on them.

5. More video productions using photography equipment and techniques. Not a top level priority but nice to have.

6. Get and Accept paying photography jobs/projects/clients. Set a sales target and work towards that.

7. Select group photoshoots and join only those where I would learn something new or try something different.

8. Establish concept before shoot. I can already shoot from the hip, now will try to develop ideas first before the shoot.

9. In relation to number 4, apply even less to NO Photoshop as much as possible.

10. Start documentation. Develop contracts, model releases, etc.

Update Nov 14, 2010. My last female model bikini lingerie photoshoot. Will be shooting objects, food, landscape, animals from hereon.

Update Sept 23, 2010. Now a professional photographer. Accepting paid commissions and projects. :-D

Update June 1, 2010. Lots of outdoor shoots done and lots more planned. Nikon D50 is showing signs of old age, too.

I prefer to create nice photographs "as shot". I strive for image sharpness, appropriate exposure and interesting composition.

I spend so much time in front of computers that "actual shooting" is a physical task that I look forward to with relief. In the same vein, I also dread the thought of editing photos on the computer.

I've been in a very intense learning period with photography since March 2009. I decided to finally get really serious with shooting on Manual mode with my Nikon D50.

Thus far, I have completed the Basic Photography workshop under Jun Miranda (PCCI). Since June I have been attending the model pictorials organized by Ruel Tafalia. I have completed FPPF's Basic Photography Workshop.
