"Ink in the well sees things differently. He sees things we dont see. The world is a different place than the one we inhabit in our day-to-day lives. More fraught with meaning, with danger too, with shadow and strange light and peculiar or muted colour.
Above all, with shadow. Sometimes it's like looking through your eyelashes, sometimes it's like remembering rather than seeing - or, in another step closer to the subconscious, like remembering a dream. There is something visionary here, even if the vision can be disconsolate, resigned, or even slightly disturbing.
Yet this is not a world without cheer: there is the fascination with unexpected angles, with quirky finds, with the obscure magic of overlooked detail. Midway David Lynch and Bela Tarr, the vision presented may have a looming sense of fatefulness, but there is also joy in the mastery of form and the adventure of experiment."26th June, 2007
