  "It’s difficult to write on Asis K. Chatterjee and his photostream. He has been in my contacts’ list –perhaps just after my joining here. I have never seen him physically and know little about the personal man. But we have mutual exchanges on matters of our personal life through Flickr mails. This is the only source from where I have managed to get about an idea of the man as far as possible. However he appears to me as a man full of vitality. He is indomitable and has passions for anything he feels worthy of human considerations.
  It is difficult to write in a proper way on his photos the number of which is as large as 1368 till the time of writing this. Moreover, in spite of my being in Flickr, I’m not at all a photographer in the true sense. But for the very fact of being here in Flickr, I am in the midst of millions of photos which have helped me to have some ideas of what is good photography. So from here in this personal position I think Asis (his own spelling) is an exceptionally good photographer. I also think that it will not be an exaggeration if I rank him as one of the best hundred photographers in Flickr. I’m inspired to comment this while feeling his innate urge as evident from his selection for his subjects in every aspect of his surroundings and in most of his stuffs he positioned himself comfortably at the helm as a creator. Actually, Asis has a living soul and so he is instantaneously linked to that real connoisseur that lives within him whatever he finds around him. It is not possible here to discuss in detail about his photos. Still I should thank him for capturing the following photos of his photostream.
  Spider lily, Pink 4 U, Peacock in silhouette, The Sunset bridge, The holy river Ganga near Hrisikesh, The road to Tunganath, The Long tail, Sweety Tweety, The dawn breaksat Himalayas, Purple Delight, Expectation and promises, Posture, Once in a foggy morning, Experiment on black 2, Kokil, It’s mine, Standing tall, The eternal beauty, The two monks.
  But in naming the few as above I am not in my opinion that the remaining majority are of less qualities. Most of them are as good as all the above photos. Some are even superior to those I have mentioned above. I have been compelled to be choosy as the number is great. And I have to make a representative sample basket.
  The force that drives Asis is his thirst for beauty and it will never be satiated so long he exists in his wonderful world. For Asis, Keats’ following poem is very true. Only you have to replace the word poetry by beauty.
  
  The poetry of earth is never dead;
  When all the birds are faint with the hot sun
  And hide in cooling trees, a voice will run
  From hedge to hedge about the new-mown mead.
  That is the grasshopper’s, – he takes the lead
  In summer luxury, – he has never done
  With his delights; for, when tired out with fun,
  He rests at ease beneath some pleasant weed.
  The poetry of earth is ceasing never.
  On a lone winter evening, when the frost
  Has wrought a silence, from the stove there shrills
  The cricket’s song, in warmth increasing ever,
  And seems, to one in drowsiness half lost,
  The grasshopper’s among some grassy hills.
  I wish him all success and a long thirsty life."
