I love classic 1960/70s hairdressing - rollers, wetsets, dryers etc. I find that a classic rollerset leaves hair with a much nicer texture than it otherwise has and it lasts for days, even after washing. Unfortunately, wetsets have the reputation for being hard to do and uncomfortable, neither of which is true: with a little practice, you can quickly set your hair, and if done properly, wearing rollers actually is very nice.

What is a classic rollerset? Hair is first washed, and then while wet wound on rollers. Unlike “modern” roller sets with velcro rollers, a 60s style set was usually wound somewhat tightly and secured with metal clips or plastic piks. You then stay in curlers anywhere from a few hours under the dryer to wearing them all day or overnight. Once completely dry, rollers are removed and hair is brushed into the desired style, which may be straight, wavy or curly.

I love seeing ladies wearing beautifully done classic hairstyles, its just so beautiful. I find that a well done roller can look great and love seeing well done sets too. They can can really be works of art (but not the messy ones – uggh!). I'm also lucky enough to enjoy classic wetsets myself. I find they do wonders to my hair, and always look forward to a set followed by some relaxing time under the dryer or even sleeping in curlers.
