"In Search of Syd has an incredible eye for a portrait. His photos are full of humanity, and seem to draw out the best things about the subject's personality and charm. He clearly sees the best in people who others unfairly ignore or shun, and his work is refreshing and joyful as a result."

"Syd is the most refreshing person I have met on flickr. He somehow knows when I need inspiration to keep my focus on what makes the world a beautiful place to be despite what our eyes see."

    Scott Docherty says:

"Syd. I was so happy to find such a warm and creative soul on here in the wake of the loss of Syd Barrett, taking up a mantle, of sorts. Sometimes the universe is kind.

His photographs are fun and daring and always interesting. He is very supportive and I appreciate every time I see him leave his mark on one of my entries. His humor - deluxe. His taste in music, right on. He is a valued rider of the railroad blue ...

    Yay for Syd."

    "A testimonial to Syd....
Syd is really "Steve" to many, yet I am sure all of his flickr friends can most identify with him as "Syd" our wonderful new friend.

Although new to flickr myself, I have seen Syd grow, blossom and flourish in all of his photographs.....but mostly in his words and stories.

The photos are truly amazing.....Syd is not afraid to experiment and experiment he does. I like to call his masses of dark blues, dark reds and squiggly lines, circles and squares his "Picas-syds".....for they tend to remind me somewhat of a Picasso.

The photos of his girls, Melissa and Ellie, are truly taken with such love. It shows with each new photo shared with us. The love he has for those girls we can all feel in witnessing it through his camera lens with him. They are his life........and I'm sure they can feel it. Melissa is becoming quite the little model....she radiates in front of his camera. The girls are beautiful...

What more can be said about Syd than hasn't aleady been said. He is the first to extend a hand to those in need.....his compassion and caring heart reach all of us. The lives he has touched.......his neighbor.....the people whose gardens he cares for and the list goes on and on......all are shared with us. Can't forget the little pets and animal friends too.

Thank you, Syd, for always being one of the first to comment on our photos. Your kind words always bring smiles to our faces.......we appreciate you very much.

    P.S.Zollo says:

"He's one of the most gifted photographers in this
Flickr galaxy. Two of his recent photos of flowers have
just floored me. As our mutual friend Magnolia83912
aptly commented, if there is anything close to perfection
in a photograph, this is it. I agree. Syd wrote that his stunning
white flower against a blue sky is smiling. And it's true.
The flower smiles with the natural dynamic splendor of
the Maker at work - divining with grace His most
beautiful gifts. Syd has done a masterful job of
capturing this floral smile, as he captures the charming
and adorable smiles of his beamish daughters,
reflecting the happy heart of a proud father. Syd also
has mastered the art of portraiture, taking many
lovely, dimensional and living portraits of people
in and around his English home. He's a multifaceted
and talented artist, and Flickr is fortunate to have him
    here among us.

He's also one of the most supportive of artists in these
pages - his group Syd's Cafe is quite possibly the
best forum here in which to display photographs. It is
a group of open arms, of artists embracing artists,
as Syd welcomes and encourages the work of his
fellow photographers with a generosity of spirit
and intelligence that is rare, and enormously
appreciated. Syd's a special guy - and I am grateful
to Flickr for so many things - but introducing me to
    Syd is prominent among them."

"Syds preposterous sense of humor parallels his bravery, his quick wit equals his genuine bravado. These credentials gained our gratitude in our journey here. He has a good eye for photography my friends, and will use his wit to your benefit when commenting or suggesting a hint for you to improve your work.
