The International Medical Interpreters Association, headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts is a pioneer international umbrella association that promotes all standards, codes, initiatives, and best practices specific for medical interpreters. It is governed by and represents medical interpreters worldwide with over 2,000 members. The organization developed the first code, standard, and certification for medical interpreters, and works with country representatives and state representatives to promote the profession worldwide.
