Hello, my name is Madralynn. And since the age of two I had never traveled past San Francisco nor ever been on an airplane or traveled very far from home. Even though I moved so many times since my childhood it was never very far from where I grew up. I arrived in Los Osos, California at 11:30pm on December 16, 2005. I spent three and a half days seeing so many amazing things as we got to know each other better. Darrell had a digital point and shoot that I could not put down. I purchased my own Kodak point and shoot in February 2007 and started to photograph nature in its raw form. I have an obsession with sea otters. I have documented the ones that live here in the bay for over four years. I wanted to do more with my photography then I was. Just taking a few great photos and hanging them on the wall in my home was not enough. I wanted to learn more. So I looked online for photography schools that would fit into my life. November 2008, I made a phone call that would change my life forever. A woman named Liz was on the phone, preparing me to live out my passion and make all my dreams come true. I purchased my DSLR in February 2009 and wanted to learn everything there is to know about this beautiful craft. June 15, 2009, I started the pathway to new and better things. I was a new student at the Academy or Art University ready to work hard and expand my mind and soul. My photography allows me to show people a piece of my heart. This is my Seventh semester at AAU. I have gained so much knowledge and will continue on this journey till I receive my Bachelors in Fine Art with emphasis on Photography.
