I'm one of the many people who call photography a hobby. I started off with a Canon AE-1 SLR , and starting taking digital shots in 2004 with my (now dead) Canon A75, which I carried around with me on trips out attempting to get some decent pictures.
I recently scraped together the money for a DSLR (A second hand Canon 20D), and it is nice to be back using a "real" camera again.
