IE’s European Office in Budapest was established in 1990 as a regional office to increase program operations across the continent. The Budapest office now covers approximately 30 countries in Western, Central, and Eastern Europe and has long-standing relationships with the most highly regarded education institutions in Europe. The office focuses on supporting and strengthening internationalization of universities; developing and managing scholarship and study abroad programs; and supporting English language teaching and testing. In addition, IIE/Europe serves as a resource to higher education institutions in the region on issues related to international academic mobility and organizes specialized short-term study abroad programs for U.S. students.
