"While I was stationed in New Orleans during the war I met this lovely photographer named i mei...Ingrid is indispensable as a friend and colleague. I could not have survived the war without her. Her kindness her charm and brilliance as a shooter kept me alive through many nights on my watch. Ingrid's talents extend beyond photography. Photography is just another color on her artist's palate. She sings and plays the piano. We would sit around the old officers club while she would bang out a charming 'old world' arrangement of "Stairway to Heaven". We would come to attention in our armor and helmets singing along..While she sang all of the Jimmy Page harmonies ... Knowing that it might be our last days..
Ingrid is a great, great great person,
I owe her my life..As a matter of fact if it wasn't for Ingrid deflecting that killer rabbit. with her entrenching tool.. I might not be around today to tell you this story!"11th November, 2008
