    Geoff. McElwaine says:

"There are few " originals " on Flickr - or, indeed, anywhere else. Someone whose nickname may be pronounced in two different ways seems to display some of the necessary characteristics. Even the briefest glance through ifido's photostream soon confirms that here is an " out-of-the-box " thinker. Watching him " at work " juggling camera and crutches illustrates the difficulty with which his eye-catching images are captured. At the same time, his titles hint at a mind humourously determined not to let his physical condition inhibit his creativity. What a guy !!"

"It’s a challenge to say something different in a testimonial to Paul that hasn’t already been said. I joined Flickr nearly a year ago and your photostream has been a huge source of inspiration to a conventional old landscaper like me. Always something new, challenging and different, you consistently produce extraordinary images from the most ordinary of scenes. Your work is a great influence – I’m now looking for different things, different angles and I know my photography has benefitted because of the opportunity I have had to see your work. But I also appreciate your support and the comments you make on my efforts – its always encouraging to get your feedback and a fav from Ifido is an acknowledgement that I greatly value."

"Paul's photographs are so beautiful. They're pictures I want to climb into and explore; they're the enticing edge of something breathtaking or a view from a place that is better than real; I don't even know what it is that makes them so but they make me stare and they make everyone I've shown them to stare. And now I'm going to back to stare, open mouthed, some more."

"Mad as a brush, as whacky as they come. But God does he take good shots! Where would Flickr and me be without you? It certainly wouldn't be anywhere near as interesting.

I always look forward to your next photo with delight and interest because I know it is going to get me beating my head and thinking.....

And really appreciate you always finding time to leave a special comment.

Thanks Paul for being the inspiration that you are, even if it has me pulling my hair out in frustration.

I laugh out loud at titles, stories, photos and antics, get inspired by the simplicity of your subjects that turn the mundane into the sublime...."

"Testimonial and talky time...about Paul aka Ifido. Firstly i was asked to add him as a friend so that i could peruse 'The Windmill'....after that? It was all every which way!

Well, if ever I am a bit down, Paul will inevitably post a pic that is a snorter. His is a stream full of every facet of photography you are likely to ever need or see. It blows me away! Unusual objects take on a new life and the usual becomes extra-ordinary. And as for his long suffering moggy? Buttons is a complete star :)

His pure bloodymindedness, honesty, warped SOH bring me back time and again, and if help is needed, its given. I am over the moon to see him out driving again, his images are being given a wider scope and that is showing hard at the mo. Thanks for Flickr befriending, Jules and I are coming to see your windmill, the SAILED kind ;)"

"What can I say about Paul's art that hasn't already been said? I don't know, but I'll give it a go and write from the heart.

I met Paul for a very brief time about a year ago now, and the imagery he portrays obvously comes from an acutely keen eye - unlike any other I know. He's a fabulous person, witty, likeable and the sort of guy you'd be proud to call your 'mate'.

But we're talking photographs here. And in Paul's case, he never fails to astound me. Just when you think you've seen the last photograph of Ballycopeland Windmill, or Donaghadee Lighthouse, Paul pulls another rabbit from his hat and produces something astounding. Not that he limits himself to any particular subject - Paul can look at any scene and capture an image which makes your jaw drop. (although he does seem to have an affinity for horses... ahem!!)

If I could see the world like Paul I'd be delighted. If I could photograph it anywhere like he does, I'd be exuberant.

    This guy rocks.

PS. One question I have for Paul - is your Flickr id I-fido or If-I-do? Never could figure this one out????!!!"

"If one person's photostream could help make you develop your eye for photography, this is the one, Paul's photos grab your attention, show you a different look, a different angle, a new perspective, even when you think you know the area you live in, paul's able to show you somewhere new, its like opening a box of chocs, there's always a new delight to find and try.
From his witty and charming personality (still laugh at your comment about the irish traffic jam!) to his helpfulness and friendliness (thanks for the tip off's for potential photo ops) , paul is one contact that you want to have, and one photostream that you'll revisit over and over again. you'll not want to miss out on what delights he's captured.
And as for the windmill..... i dont think there's anybody out there that could take fabby shots of it like he does.... so keep 'em coming and continue to be an inspiration to us all! ;o)"

""What can i say about PAUL aka ifido. I love the point of view he gives to his work. A deep and developed passion for getting to the bottom of things , . You can recognize his style immediately. His excitement and love for his work and world makes even something repetitious beautiful and that excitement is contagious, leaving you feeling good, aware and stimulated. wanting more, but well informed. His meticulous eye for detail and quality lets you see in a candid way, life is good and bad, but beautiful is nice to and worth fighting for to. His passion comes from somewhere primal and deep, Its like a rhythm that unites people of all walks life and leaves you feeling glad you caught that moment and confirms its all worth it. Many people won't ever get to see such things, but Paul's own beauty provides endless opportunity to see whats really going on out there and he shows up for his role. Instigating and demanding performance out of a world that gone a bit slack or lost its drive. I can't wait to see what he does next." look out for the windmills!!"

"Hello every one my name is John and I am a FLICKR addict .Now if you are reading this you have seen one of the reasons that I have sleepless nights and relationship problems.
Paul has the honor of having the most uplifting of photostreams I have visited. Color and composition are the (I think ) hallmark of these great shots. Being an Irishman he is also blessed with blarney and his humor is infectous. So look again and enjoy as I do.
    Thanks Paul.
