I am one of the lucky people who has been able to put food on the table while enjoying what I do. In a world where everyone feels that they have to specialize in specializing a specialty, I find better value in being a general practitioner. I think that I can approach a problem in a more creative, different, and successful way by constantly trying new things. Not by only being able to use a small tool set. You will have to tell me if its working or not.

- I fell into photography and ended up getting a degree in commercial photography with advanced study in the commercial / illustrative area.
- After school, I started out working as a darkroom tech, freelance shooter, lighting tech and portrait photographer. After all this bouncing around, I started looking for a regular paycheck. I ran a one hour lab for two years then moved onto a TV station production studio doing all aspects of video production. It was time to move back into still so I joined the US Navy as a photographer. I did that for 22 years and have run labs, taught school, shot all types of still and video with a huge range of subjects, situations and styles.

- I am now retired from the navy and am working as the City Photographer for Virginia Beach with that work being posted here - vbcityphotographs
- My main personal interest is in panorama’s (multi frames) and multi media presentation.

- I am teaching basic photography through Tidewater Community Collage at the Visual Arts Center.
