The International Book Project is a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization created in 1966 by Harriet Van Meter.

Each year we send more than 150,000 books to schools, libraries, churches, and Peace Corps volunteers in over 40 countries.

We send books by the:
Mail-bag - 35-pound boxes of books that can go anywhere with a postal address. They cost $200 to send.
Sea Container - 20-foot or 40-foot containers that travel by sea, carrying 10,000-20,000 books. They cost $10,000 to send.
