My first camera was an old Kodak point and shoot 35 mm film camera. I still have those pictures laying around someplace. My father taught me basics about exposure and DOF on his SLR. I can't even remember what kind of camera it was. The first digital camera I bought was a Canon S2IS. I learned a lot more about exposure and framing on that one. I wanted to pick up a digital SLR, but my ex would complain that if I were to buy something like that, then I would have to make money off of it. Well, she had to go, and I got a Canon XTi. From there I found that photography is not a cheep hobby, but something that I really enjoy. I find myself looking at things, even without my camera, and thinking how I would frame and compose that shot. I'm not the biggest enthusiast, but I love talking to my friends, be it on flickr or in real life, about new lenses, or cameras, or the shots that we took.
