This site is dedicated to my uncle. He donated to the Ukrainian Government their first Ukrainian embassy in Great Britain ! Ironically, he died the day before the Ukrainian President arrived.

The President spent the first five minutes telling the parliament of Great Britain about my uncle.

At his funeral, I met Victor Yuschenko who was sent by Ukraine to be at the funeral. While having lunch with Yushchenko, he told me that one day he would be President and gave me an invitation to come to Ukraine and visit him.


The Archbishop of the Ukrainian Catholic Church of Great Britain held the service. He is buried where the Kings and Queens are buried. I was told it took a lot of money and leverage to get him in.

Not a bad accomplishment for a Hutsul ! You could call him a "Hutsul Warrior". He founded the "Mazepa Society" and was always fighting for Ukraine's freedom.

I have some of his correspondence from Churchill to Generals of Ukraine. Maybe I'll post them one day !

He used various names in England to avoid the K.G.B. He was known as Michael Tarnawsky and Michael Hamilton. His real name was Michael Dmytrenko.
