Every year, over 200 artists transform the pavement of downtown Houston into an unconventional art gallery. Using pastels, these talented artists create gigantic murals directly on the street. While they work, local bands play live music and children create smaller scale works of art alongside the artists.
The two-day event, free to the public, raises awareness about The Center for Hearing and Speech, and hearing impairments in children. It also raises funds through sponsorships, merchandise sales and tip appreciation jars.
The festival also increases public access to art by bringing art onto the asphalt for all Houstonians to enjoy.
