In october 2005 I was looking for someplace on the web where I could show some photos from last summer's travel to my friends. The photos were scanned slides from my old Nikon F3, and I was tired with waiting for people to come and visit me so I could show them the slides. I had no intention though that anybody else than the people I told to would see my photos on the internet.
I found flickr, and, having no experience at all from the web-based social life, I was amazed by the gentle, cheerful and intelligent atmosphere I found.
At the same time I bought a new camera, the Olympus C7070, and went all digital. The old F3 hasn't been touched ever since.
I've had lots of fun showing, but most of all watching, photos on flickr. All the very nice comments from you have made me a happier man. All the inspiration from you have made me a happier photographer. Finding new friends is worth even more.

"Totte's work has always been inspiring for me. He is a great artist, very creative, a teacher in the "real world" and a teacher for me as well. We have a lot in common ( i think ) concerning the things we deal with, the things that make us create some images and the things that give us the need to express.

Totte i wish you all the best for 2007. Hope we will still be friends and we will meet someday, to shake hands. For real! Thank you buddy!"

"Darkness and The Light. Totte is a master at exploring this theme. With sophisticated Photoshop skills, he brings a soft focus luminance to his studies of tulips and natural scenes that is beautifully spiritual and transcendent. Trees, flowers, grass seem to glow from within. His photographs sometimes assume a mythical or fairy tale quality that simultaneously appeal to both our intellect and child-like sense of wonder. In his more graphical Photoshop creations, his images convey powerful psychological and religious symbolism that reflects his artistic sensitivities, literary knowledge, and wisdom. His work shows honest self-expression: he explores themes of depression, despair, religiousness, and the path to salvation. But he also shows us his lighter, playful side in the images of the giant teddy bear and his mischevious clones. If you’re looking for beautiful images that express the subtle meanings of light and dark, the intricacies of the human psyche, and thought-provoking humor, you’ll find them in Totte’s stream."
