The Holy Mountain
“When I define myself, I am dead.” – Alejandro Jodorowsky

Demian Becerra, the force behind Holy Mountain Photography, first grew into his love for taking pictures as an adolescent, filled with vision and a need to do something fresh and unique. As a teenager, Becerra took many hands-on photography courses, developing his own photographs in the dark room, while improving his personal skill and gaining an indispensible understanding of composition, light, and contrast. As an adult Becerra continued to expand upon his photographic desires and began to take photographs at various clubs and concerts throughout the greater Los Angeles area. This has proved to be the most inspiring field of photography for Becerra; he is constantly entranced by the individuals he shoots, while always capturing their distinctive style and aura. However, Becerra refuses to be confined into the vague point-and-click nature of many new photographers today. Instead Becerra looks at every photograph as an opportunity. To take a picture is to expose defining human characteristics in each person, and Becerra has a strong grasp on this.

It was the Law of the Sea, they said. Civilization ends at the waterline. Beyond that, we all enter the food chain, and not always right at the top.
