My early drawings, paintings, installations and small sculptures were primarily concerned with the complicated and subtle implications of being human. These works often drew from my family and my experience growing up in the swampy bayou lands of southern Louisiana. Recently the work has come to explore the relationship between people and the rest of the living world; chiefly, the changing of land and its effect on culture and the implications these phenomena pose on issues of land use, cultural preservation, and the human soul.
