Hi there my name is Michael and I am a 53 year old male from Sydney Australia

I have recently found myself with more time on my hands and have re-discovered the enjoyment of photography. I am certainly not a professional and look forward to improving my skills over time. I guess like most photographers I want to take the perfect picture. At the moment I am happy to capture the world around me. In time I wish to take more portraits – I believe that the camera can not only capture visual effects but also emotional effects.

It is my goal in time to have my photos communicate to the viewer on a number of levels – maybe an impossible dream, but certainly one to strive for.

Part of my learning curve is also to master (or attempt to master) Photoshop. Any Photoshop suggestions or tips will be appreciated.

The photos currently in my photostream are random shots taken over the last few years. As you will see I still have a lot to learn…but that is half the fun of doing this. In time I will replace these photos with my latest efforts.

I currently am using:-
Canon 400D Digital camera with a standard lens kit EFS 18-55mm and a zoom EF 75-300mm.
Sanyo Xacti 3.2 mega camera.
