Started getting interested in photography in year 11, havent stopped since. I have a streak for art one would say, as I also enjoy painting, infact some of my better pictures i've painted :)

Beyond year 11 I have been self taught, through books, websites and experementation. I like to think over the years that I have been taking photos that I'm slowing developing my own style.

I've had a lot of equipment over the years, starting at the "botton" and working my way up:
Practica SLR's
Pentax K1000 & A1
A few 1940-50's Kodak models (Primes, sharp as sharp)

Then when digital cameras came along my first was an Canon ixus v1, followed with an A70, then a G2 (which I still have), followed by my first DSLR, a 300D.

The 300D finally started to fail due to the pathetic shutter, and it was eventually time to upgrade to something more semi-pro a 40D.

The 40D is now gone to a new home and my current camrea is the 5D mark 2.

Current equipment:

- Canon 5D Mark 2 + Aftermarket Grip.
- Canon EF 17-40mm f4 L
- Canon EF 24-105mm f4 IS L
- Canon EF 50mm f1.4
- Canon EF 70-200mm f4 IS L
- Kenko Extension Tube Set
- Various Hi-Tech ND Grads + filters.
- Canon 430 Speedlight.
- Remote timer and shutter release.

- Manfrotta 055ProB Tripod.
- Glanz TR2241 Tripod with Glanz 02 Head.
- Olympus Tough 8010 (10m waterproof)
- Canon Powershot SX1 (Backup)

RECOMMENDED:
From the list above I would have to say the one thing everyone should get is an external flash. It's no where near studio light quality, but it's far superior to the inbuilt flash, particually when bounced.
