When I heard the learn'd astronomer,
When the proofs, the figures, were ranged in columns before me,
When I was shown the charts and diagrams, to add, divide, and measure them,
When I sitting heard the astronomer where he lectured with much applause
in the lecture-room,
How soon unaccountable I became tired and sick,
Till rising and gliding out I wander'd off by myself,
In the mystical moist night-air, and from time to time,
Look'd up in perfect silence at the stars.

~ Walt Whitman

I'm updating my profile, because...frankly you need to be warned:

I talk a lot. If you see me post, be prepared to read. If you don't have time for a small novel, it's best to just pass on the look-see.

I'm a pretty horrible contact. Once again...we're back to that talking thing. Do you know how long it takes me to write a comment? Even one with only one sentence. Assuming it's a run on. Because most of them are.

If you'd rather skip the sunset, or the sunrise...well, you may not get that option. I like them. A lot.

But then again, it's open season on style. Daily projects, some pretty influential contacts, and I've probably got just about everything. Except people. I'm still working up the nerve. Or not.

So, enter at your own risk. Stay awhile if you want. And don't be afraid of that little envelope by your sign in. Flickr Mail express is a pretty nice feature to have for strangers.

And just to show I'm not always snarky....a friend shared something beautiful with me...I'd like to pass it on for anyone else to enjoy:

    :Elizabeth: says:

"Following hms_chic's stream is like taking a quiet walk with a gentle guide and seeing the endless and pure possibilities of light, nature, and space. Whether she's capturing a rural scene, taking in a new view through traveler's eyes, sharing a slice of her day, or contemplating the power of the waters that instinctively draw her near - Heather's images are always a wonder-filled moment of observation, contemplation and appreciation for the wide world around her. Blending her beautiful photography with great humour and thoughtful reflection, her talent is a gift and a visit to her stream, a daily must.

Do I even need to mention her amazing collection of hats and shoes? Well, don't take my word for it."
