The Beaverton Historical Society was established Spring 2008, when several citizens discovered that there wasn't one. We began immediately to consult with the Washington County Historical Society and the historical societies of neighboring cities.
Our plans are to initially be primarily an online historical society so that our information is as available as possible to family researchers, students, and the general population.
We have a dedicated website (www.historicbeaverton.org) but plan on posting the photos we obtain in this Historic Beaverton flickr group. Photos may be downloaded for non-commercial purposes and be attributed to the Beaverton Historical Society and/or the source cited with the photo description.
Comments on any of our photos are welcome, especially if you are able to contribute to our knowledge and accuracy of our descriptions.
