Is it bad that throughout the day I look at things in relation to the rule of thirds? I don't think so. I constantly look around and think, "that would look amazing with a wide open 85mm 1.4." I am an amateur and I don't pretend to be anything more. Flickr motivates me all the time and constantly proves to me that I have so much more to learn. Outdoor activity is also another passion of mine. If I had it my way I would spend the rest of my life out on a trail and camping under the stars. But since I can't always have everything I want I'll have to be happy with getting out as much as I can and documenting it.

    HarborLit: Pedro Rocks says:

"hikerFUNatic lives in a desert town, and makes compelling use of the desert as his muse and subject.

In my opinion, his finest images depict the intersection of humankind and dry desolation. He has shown us tiny figures crossing a cracked expanse, the pathos of a large rock dragged by invisible hands from nowhere to nowhere, and dead Washingtonia filifera palms marking the puncture of America's recent real estate bubble.

I hope you will enjoy his photostream as much as I do, for his unique take on the dry, flat expanses of SoCal's fascinating desert regions."
