Thank you for your interest ...I uploaded my first photo one year ago; fickr has been an amazing journey trying to do what I want to do with photography. There is so much inspiration from my contacts in the areas I’m interested in presenting: landscapes, candid, art, expressive. I’ve learned to see and continue to see more from original flat surface broad view to specialized focus that highlights shape, tone , I value my contacts and their comments - very much appreaciated and will do my best to offer my thoughts in return. cheers!

Here is an outstanding example of quality candid shots from my contacts. This gallery was inspired Kurt (Ian San's) capture on April 10, 2010.

Had to stop by again to see, you know, the progress. WOW! If this isn’t the best gallery on flickr it has to be one of the best. I’m even more honored now than I was before to be included. This collection is spectacular! www.flickr.com/photos/hiker_photog/galleries/721576238472...

Great-magical shot and moment... and the lyrics ... all create a very human scene ... a kind soul description ... if you are so moved by all interactions - you're a great Artist... deeply in your soul ... Dale ... and have a com-passionsate heart... and EYE...too...

I love shots of people at work. As a former cook, there was nothing I liked more than making ridiculously big fireballs over the burners. Nicely captured!

"Mr Hiker is very easy to describe, but then, that would be not a real tribute if I just wrote a compassionate, extremely talented photographer full stop. Minimum had to be a mega full stop!
However with some streams it's about the quality of photos you see. Others it can be the title, the description which makes the photo. Both combined and Mr Hiker's personality added, which does shine through, you'll find this and what a find:
high quality pictures of a master story teller. He is the Agatha Christie of flickr: you'll think you'll see it coming and bang it hits you! A candid, which reveals itself very slowly, a serious dark series which looked ballerina-light-hearted in the contacts!
Prepare... prepare to enjoy on the highest level!"

"It's hard to believe, but Dale and I started shooting together about 30 years ago now. We enjoyed working in our darkrooms (I did B&W and Dale jumped into color processing). It's been fun to see how he's changed over the years. About a year ago I visited him in San Diego and got to try my hand at all the beautiful locations he has there to shoot at ... unfortunately, time didn't allow for the winery.

His candid shots are hard to beat -- he's found an avenue that he enjoys, exceeds at what he shoots and graciously shares with the rest of us.

Here's to you Hiker -- you rock !!

"Dale (aka Hiker) is one of my best contacts on flickr. Actually, he’s not a contact, he’s a friend and I make sure to visit his photostream daily. One of the things I like about his work is the candid photography. He has some very interesting street shots that give good insight to the area in which he lives; San Diego. Living near the coast he also has excellent beach scenes. My favorite has to be this shot - www.flickr.com/ph... -. The composition is unique, I like the beach so the backdrop is gorgeous, and I enjoy black & white photography. As you browse his photostream only one thought will come to mind: how much you will suddenly desire to visit southern California. If not for the quaint shops and street markets it will be for that gorgeous warm beach. I’ve never actually visited San Diego but thanks to Dale’s photography I have been given a wonderful virtual tour. You will, too, if you pay a visit to his stream."
