Photography has been a passion with me since I took my first beginner course in high school, but a lack of proper equipment has always been a major stumbling block to my progress. I inherited the 80's era SLR camera my mom used when I was in high school and I'm enjoying re-learning how to use it. I just wish developing film wasn't so expensive. Very recently I made the huge investment in new equipment. I bought a Canon S5IS, which is a very good point and shoot camera and I highly recommend it. A complete set of accessory lenses and filters can be purchased on eBay for under $200. The camera itself is very capable of taking excellent close-up shots of flowers, insects, and other small objects, as well as having a 12x digital zoom.

In October of 2006 I splurged and bought a gently used Canon EOS 30D and have never looked back.

The lenses I use with the 30D include:
Canon 50mm f/1.8
Canon EF 28-105mm AF f/3.5-4.5 USM II Macro
Sigma 70-300mm AF APO DG Macro

On loan from a dear friend:

50mm f/1.4
85mm f/1.8
70-200mm f/2.8L
180mm f/3.5L

Living in Oregon offers the very best in scenery, flowers, and animal life that I have seen anywhere I've been so I have no shortage of beautiful things to photograph.

I'm loving this flickr community; I've learned a lot so far and will continue to learn and grow as I find people and groups that share my interests. So far I have seen no shortage of amazing photographs from incredibly talented artists, and I continue to discover new things to be inspired by every single day.

The use of my photographs is strictly prohibited without my written consent. I'll be flattered that people like my photos, but I won't let anyone take credit for my creations.

Also, if you add my photos to your favorites and have no photos of your own, no profile information, and no contacts. you will be blocked no questions asked. By the same token, if your own photostream is full of smut and/or your contacts are all called something like "Nasstygirrllls" or "0vEr40Slutz" you will also be blocked. This is just not my cup of tea.
