Headstand Media LLC was formed on October 1, 2007 by Randal Birkey and the Dillon Kane Group. It is currently located in the downtown Chicago DKG office space at 333 West Wacker Drive.

Randal BirkeyRandal started his career as a freelance illustrator in 1980. He founded BIRKEY.COM as a web design and development company in 1996. In 1999, he merged this creative web practice with Midwest Information Systems, Inc., a software development firm located in Chicago’s western suburbs. BIRKEY.COM became a division of MIS of which Randal was the Managing Director through September of 2007.

From 1999 to 2007 Randal and a team of web designers and developers, provided world class web design and Microsoft based web solutions to customers ranging from non-profit Christian ministries (Kidology.org, Sonlife.com) and charitable organizations (The Petersen Automotive Museum, Caris Prevention Services, Shared Hope), to public and private corporations (Ryerson, Inc., Amsted Industries, TTX, Electro-Motive Diesels).

Headstand Media will extend Randal’s ability to serve public and private organizations and corporations with a wider range of creative and technology solutions, strategic web consulting, Web 2.0 integration, project management and search engine optimization services.

Benjamin Nelson
Benjamin Nelson joins Headstand Media with a background in web user interface design with firms such as ClickCommerce, ShopLocal.com and freelance experience as Someday Soon Design. While at ShopLocal, Benjamin was part of a creative team that developed the Digital Punch TV vlog, which gained some notable traffic on YouTube and other video blog outlets. Benjamin is also a musical director, teacher and improv actor with Second City. www.websmart.tv
