Big Fat Mano Cat says:
"Hashim's photostream can be considered the anti-"chai tea latte". He gets the psyche of the Lahori/Punjabi lifestyle so well, and delivers it just so. None of that watered down, overspiced nonsense you see floating around the net, claiming to be true art. Just plain old, taaza chai for the desi soul.
Besides that, he knows a good joke when he sees one, appreciates cats, and occasionally questions the existence of certain sweet things. Plus, he rambles more than I do.
Really, what's not to love? =D"22nd January, 2009

"H@shim is one of the most charming people on Flickr.
He also knows his f stops from his isos and has a great eye for a picture. He has some magnificent photos hidden away in his photostream to prove it.
It's worth checking back often to see the 'gallery' change."15th February, 2008

"It seems like I've known him forever. I do believe I have. It just took a while to realize that. It's all about the feet you know."

"Drama. Suspense. Action. Duckies. Chai. And the occasional Vespa.
You never know what you will find in Hashim's photos and ridiculously long and often off-topic comment threads - but it's always a joy. Add to it all the uncertainty of when he may delete a photo from his stream, and you're always on the edge of your seat. Or couch.

"Okay, I'll say it. On flickr Hashim and I have a love-hate contactship. He argues with me in comment threads, he stole my icon, and he acts genuinely and completely surprised when I post a technically good photo. (Notice a pattern here? *halo*) But the man has got a sense of humoUr, and quite a talent, and frankly, his nieces are just too cute for me to dislike him too much. I might even be persuaded to have a cup of chai with him some day.
But only if it's good chai."1st August, 2007

"Funny, friendly & with an eye for fine photography -- no doubt, Hashim brightens my time spent on flickr.
He's always pushing himself to achieve more in his own stunning photography while his comments to others are flavored with delicious spices labeled: kind and interesting. Often, he throws in a healthy dash of contemporary life, and movie/television silliness, all well-sprinkled with his knowledge of rock 'n roll, music & lyrics.
I'll let you in on a little secret, even Hashim likely doesn't know -- one of the reasons I enjoy looking at his photos so much is because of the awesome love & devotion that shines through. He clearly dotes on the lovely women & handsome men in his life (his spouse, sister, neices, other family members & friends) -- and he does them proud in remarkable portraits. They realize this too, I'm sure. Happily, I learn subtle things about his native culture, which is (to my eyes & through his eyes) especially and exceptionally beautiful.
Thanks, HA, you are unique -- oh wait, one thing more --annoyingly, he likes to change his icon often, so he's not always immediately recognizable... but we'll give him that small hiccup, if he keeps all the rest of his super-self intact!
Everything, even the fist shaking, is smile-inducing."15th June, 2007

"He is the photographer that I want to hire to shoot my funeral. Shocking, I know, since I may not even be in attendance myself. (I'll probably even pay him cash, instead of writing that check as once planned. His eye is worth it and I deserve to look good.)"

"Hashbrown makes the sun shine on a rainy day.
I admire his photography (he does take rocking photos! especially ones of little people - aka children - and wedding ones) but more importantly I admire and respect his knowledge of desi fashion, food and our mutual passion for chai...
I love our time difference conversations... some at 4am!
The world is a better place with Hashim in it :o)"23rd September, 2006

a shadow of my future self says:
"I 'met' Hashim for the first time early in 2006, shortly after stumbling into flickr. I was charmed by his wide ranging erudition, intelligent, left field and often very hilarious take on even mundane details.
I like his photos for many reasons some I'm not even sure of - he's made me aware of things I didn't take notice of before and shown me stuff I barely knew existed. Like certain types of Canadian take away food. His cross cultural influences and references make me envious at times, as I come to wish I knew more about him and his world.
On top of that Hashim always pulls an original view from under whatever hat he's wearing - that of camera user or as observer and critic of his flickr fellows' work. He gives intelligent support to others and often finds and posts references to the most lateral sources of linked information you can imagine. And it's always on the nail and informative no matter how serious, irreverent or fun.
Also I suspect we shared a deep sense of personal loss and grief at Mr Normal's extinction which may unwittingly have bonded us across the ether.
The world needs more people like Hashim."22nd September, 2006

"Hashim is a charming and witty chap who often makes me giggle as much as the first part of his name may make me do in rolled ciggarette form. His photos are always interesting and his humility is large. Long live Hashim!"

Mr Normal says:
"Hashim like most men, likes girls and cars. The photos in his stream suggest this.
His sense of humor and intelligence however, far exceeds that of the average man. This makes me suspect that perhaps he is not of this earth. If he is a space alien, then I hope that he spares my life when his beings take over the planet, because I would make a great butler."24th January, 2006

"Hashim's photos just blow my socks off. Which can be a bit annoying as my feet tend to get cold quickly.
Luckily Hashim is always there to warm them for me.
A veritable melting pot of warmth, emotion and charm, Hashim will enrich your life like few others."23rd January, 2006
