Nikon D40

Latest camera (30 April 2007) is a Nikon D40 Digital SLR camera complete with supplied 18-55mm Nikkor AF-S kit lens. We expect to use this for most of our photos now but will keep the Ultra Zoom Olympus for more snappy shots as its smaller and also where we need a bigger zoom until we manage to get a different lens for the D40 at least! Already its clear the D40 focuses much better in low light and in fact takes great shots with very little light. It also is ready in literally a second to take shots, has a stunning large LCD display, great battery life and transfers shots back to the PC in seconds.

Olympus C765UZ

We've had this camera for a few years now. Its a 4MP Ultra Zoom digital camera from Olympus and takes some nice shots. Struggles to focus indoors in poor light but very useable otherwise and takes nice video clips in Quicktime as well. The zoom range is great and its compact for such a large zoom. We'll be keeping this to use alongside the D40.

HTC Hermes

Phone camera on our T Mobile Vario II PDA phones. Not a stunning camera but useful when nothing else is to hand and in daylight can take acceptable snaps. Its always to hand which is the main benefit.
