All images are of wild animals, no exceptions. The majority were taken in Illinois, within an hour of Chicago. The Palos Forest Preserve is my favorite destination for mountain biking and hiking. I have yet to explore all 20,000 acres of this mostly forested preserve. For paddling, we have several excellent rivers including the DuPage, Illinois, and the fantastic DesPlaines which somehow remains in great condition. And of course, Illinois has some of the best remaining high quality prairies.
