I moved from North Carolina to New York City the summer of 1968 when folk music reigned in the Village and flower children stood in line at the Fillmore East to buy tickets to rock concerts by the Doors, Richie Havens, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix and Jefferson Airplane.

Photography is a hobby and my photography is a reflection of my love affair with New York City. My photographs have been published in Time Out New York and the Schmap New York Guide and shown at the Greenwich Arts Council's Summer Art to the Avenue exhibit in Greenwich, Connecticut and the "As We See It" 2009 and 2010 New York City Photo Club exhibits at the LGBT Center in Manhattan.

Favorite photographers are those who captured the beauty of New York City in the early years of photography: Bernice Abbott, Jacob Riis, Marvin and Morgan Smith in Harlem, Edward J. Steidman, Alfred Stieglitz, Paul Strand, James Van Der Zee, and Edward Weston. The NYC paintings of John Sloane and Edward Hooper are also an inspiration.

"Photography records the gamut of feelings written on the human face, the beauty of the earth and skies that man has inherited and the wealth and confusion man has created.” -- Edward Steichen
