I'm 19, currently studying a Bachelor of Design in Photography & Situated Media at UTS, work with a Nikon D90 and am hoping to make a living out of shooting live gigs.

I'm not the greatest musician or photographer, but music is what I live and breathe on a daily basis. A music enthusiast, if you will. I've been into this photography obsession since mid 2006 and as I've only just managed to get my hands on a DSLR early last year, I've been taking it more seriously since.

I'd like to think that the way I approach concert photography is in a semi-pro way. Semi, purely because I'm not simply shooting to get something done, and then leave the venue. I shoot like a fan, thus giving me a lot of photographs to go through once I slide that memory card in to my computer to start the editing process. Whenever I'm able, I always try to trek it out to the venue in order to catch the full line up and the full sets. That means every last support act prior to the headliners and every single song up until that very last note during an encore. After all, what's the fun in making your way to a gig just to shoot one band for 15 minutes or less? It's the music experience that aids you in capturing the best shots that you possibly can.

A large percentage of my work will be live music, or photographs relating to music, but of course I do enjoy the odd one or two aesthetically pleasing shots, along with more conceptual works or series created for my uni projects which I've yet to showcase.

My soft spot for music can be defined by my all-time favourite band & solo artist. Bon Jovi & Keith Urban. There's just something about the two that I can't quite put into words. I've seen them both 4 times and I hope to keep adding to that number. Having said that, other artists on my playlist range from Darren Hayes & Enrique Iglesias to The Living End, Paramore & The Clash.

To generalise, I simply love music. As long as it's good music, I'll listen to it. Regardless of whether it's mainstream, underground or 'old'. You can't deny good music.

My favourite locals right now are New Empire. Their music is simply incredible and they deserve all the success they have, plus so much more.

My ideal utopia would be gigs and photography. A fairly limited palette, sure, but it's all I need.
