About Us:
Gump's has been a San Francisco legend since 1861. Whether browsing our website, viewing our catalog, or visiting our San Francisco store, you are bound to find incredibly unique products and exemplary service.
Then & Now:
Founded in 1861, the first store was at 535-537 Clay Street. In 1872, the store was moved to 117-119 Sansome Street, with a factory established on Market Street between 7th and 8th Street
In 1876, the store moved to 581-583 Market Street
In 1892, a new locale of 113-115 Geary Street, near Union Square, was chosen. In 1906, the San Francisco earthquake and fire wiped out the Geary store. After the fire, Gump's set up at 1645 California Street and by summer 1909, Gump's moved to 250 Post Street. Currently, Gump's resides just down the street at 135 Post Street.

Currently in our Gallery: Robert Poplack through March 1, 2009. Robert Kuo, beginning February 12, 2009; personal appearance, Thursday, February 26, 2009.
