Guido Haesevoets - " back from a (too) long break"'s photostream  

Hello there!

I've been taken pictures for as long as I can remember. First it was one of those small film cassette type of camera's that I used as a 10 year old boy snapping every now and then a military jet on approach to the airbase that we were living close to. I even kept a logbook with registration numbers at the time, so I also was an early airplane spotter.

Time went by and as everyone started to get excited about digital photography, when the 2 and 3 Mpixel camera's came on the market, I went for my first film SLR. Film photography learned me a thing or 2 about camera settings, how to make use of lighting and so on. Things I still find usefull today when using my DSLR. Indeed, I bought a Canon 20D at the beginning of 2006, right when everyone was excited about the 30D. :o) I chose it for it's speed, robustness and good grip. It's all typical Canon and as as I replaced my EOS-300 with it, it all fell very familiar. Now 20.000+ images later, it hasn't put a single click wrong, so it's dog reliable as well.

I always carry my camera with me, to work, on trips, just about everywhere. Keep everything nice and tidy in a LowePro back pack, so that's a uesfull thing to have as well. Mid-2008 I invested in a 70-200 L f4.0 IS lens from Canon and the image quality has improved quite a bit compared to my standard 75-300 kit zoom lens.

I'm mainly interested in taking pictures of airplanes, both civil and military, as well as motorsport related photography, covering both rally and races. Every now and then nature, animals, insects and skies that is, catch my attention as well. And occasionally I tempt myself into night photography.
