The moving picture has been my professional life for more than 20 years. With my first photographic project I did in 1999 - a diary from a journey through the USA I adressed to a friend - I realized that the still picture as a language is much more impressive. The recipient has the freedom to stay with the photograph as long as they want, again and again, slower or faster. The creation of a still picture therefore has to be done more carefully than a moving picture, because it's the image itself that speaks - no sound, no cut can manipulate the viewer - they decide what they need. I gave up my job in TV to spend my time with photography, because it's the much more challenging communication medium.
The friend my diary from 1999 was adressed to is now my husband and life companion.
