My encounter with serious photography was a fortuitous decision driven by hot young blood eager to get closer to my dream girl during high school back in 1993. The girl was never mine but a Minolta X300 with a Sigma 18-200 (300?) became my first film SLR.

In those film days it was an on off relationship. I briefly switched to Canon ix7 in 1999, which was an APS film body. It never really worked out for long.

Then digital came along and changed everything. The trouble all along was the film. It was first a Canon S30 in 2002, followed by a Minolta A1 in 2004. The Minolta was good but something was missing. But I hesitated until 2007 before plunging into a Nikon D300.

I am in deep now. I have a feeling this time it is for real and forever.
