'Ello!

My name is Mike, what can I say? I'm originally from the Chicagoland Area and going to school at Illinois Wesleyan University.

I honestly appreciate every single view that I get. Constructive criticism is my favorite thing. It's hard to offend me, so give it a good crack.

I haven't made explore yet, but I'm excited for the day I do. In the mean time, I am completely ecstatic about everyone who takes the time to view my photos, or even flip through my photostream. I'd also like to thank my contacts for their continuous support.

A special thank you to Tracy Ellen Photography for gifting me a flickr pro account in October of 2008. Unfortunately, I am without one now-- Until the number of new photos I post are overwhelming, I'm going to stay free.

Here's my gear:
Canon EOS 1D Mark II
Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8 USM L Lens
Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 Lens
Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM Lens

    Richard Brandon Yates says:

"If I had only three words to sum up Mike's work, I'd probably say cinematic, peaceful, and exquisite.

I first ran across his work in comments and hit/miss groups, where I always seemed to run across it. I decided to take a look at his stream one day, and I was blown away by the quality of his photos. Each one is treated with such a perfect touch of post; his tones are absolutely gorgeous, his bokeh is outstanding, and his presentation really sets him apart from just another Flickr member. His use of black "letterbox" framing, as well as his use of very minimalist titles always sitting in the perfect spot are two very notable techniques about his work that really stand out to me. And even though these quirky methods are there, they do not at all subtract from the photo, which is just what I like; dramatic minimalism.

Mike's work is truly a treat to view, and I expect many more beautiful images from this guy. He gives great constructive criticism, and you won't regret having him on your contacts."

"After "knowing" Mike for a while on Flickr, I feel like I can write an accurate testimonial for him. First of all, this guy can take pictures like no other. He doesn't have insanely expensive gear like some do, but he sure knows how to use what he does have. Really, truly masterful control of a camera - I've seen better pictures from him than I have many "professional" studios in my area.

However, where he really works is magic is after the fact. The post processing seen in his photo stream is just out of this world. Perfect tones, perfect textures, perfect everything. Honestly some of the best post processing work I've ever seen, bar none.

But really, above everything else, this is just a great guy to talk to - about photography, about music, about whatever. He's far and away the most friendly person I've met on Flickr, and probably online overall. Extremely nice and far too easy to get into a conversation with. He's also helpful, either offering praise or great constructive criticism.

I know at least for me, Mike has quickly become one of my favorite Flickr members, and I sincerely doubt anyone would regret having him in their contact list. He's just wonderful on all levels."
