nomadic artist with residences/studios in San Francisco, Georgetown/Sun City, TX and Redlands, CA, I am aiming to "Paint the Town" wherever I go.
I travel a fair amount between my residences and to new places. In 2007, travel took me to Wales, Chicago, Venice Italy, among other places and in 2008, I made it to Philadelphia, Vancouver, BC; Victoria, BC; Maui, and a surprise trip to Paris, France. 2009 I made it to Prague and Karlovy Vary as well as New York City (besides my residences in CA and Texas)

2010 my sister, Gobind Boyes and I painted our way through the South of France, mom and I went to Boston for my nephew's Harvard graduation, and we also made it to South Padre Island, TX.

2011 begins the year with the Palm Springs International Film Fest, I will paint the town, Alameda, CA in earnest and perhaps also Forest Falls, CA as well as Austin, TX, the two CA towns together with my newest protege and Paint the Town Art partner, Linda Weinstock.

I use flickr mostly to finally organize and develop my thousands of photographs, since it is from my photos (and those commissioned by or submitted by my clients) from which I make personalized acrylic, oil or digital paintings on canvas or fine art paper.

Flickr is great in testing the market so I can make better decisions as to which of my own photo compositions I may want to turn into paintings if I have not done so already!

2011 beginning of the year is the new target for launch of my fully functioning website with online store!

Please feel free to contact me in any of your native languages if they include: English, French, German, Spanish or Portuguese! I can decipher a little bit of Italian as well. I am especially interested in "Painting the Town" in interesting spots around the world and am very open to home exchange or less expensive options available so welcome legitimate proposals.

I am always open to painting new subject matter so if you think your photo or mix of photos would make a nice GretchenArt painting, you will get a free custom GretchenArt in exchange for my being able to add the resulting painted image to my collection--if your photo is selected. You maintain the copyright on your photos of course, but I own the copyright on any derivative paintings. I would like to greatly expand my repertoire of dog paintings to all the most popular dog breeds, so I especially welcome good dog photos!
