Leonardo da Vinci, Trattato della Pittura:

"Look at a wall spotted with stains, or with a mixture of stones (...) you may discover a resemblance to landscapes (...) battles with figures in action ... strange faces and costumes and (...) an endless variety of objects "

"If you look at some walls with various stains or with a mixture of different types of stones; (...) so you can see there pictures of landscapes with mountains, rivers, rocks, trees, large plains, valleys and hills of various kinds, as can You are there different battles and figures with lively gestures, strange faces and costumes and endless things to see "

Thanks for looking in.

I am distracted by reflections.

I am mainly influenced by painters-1930's surrealists and modern abstract .If I can find a scene which conjures up a whiff of these influences I am always pleased.

I use a Canon 5D Mk2 DSLR with combination of Canon EF lenses and manual focus telephotos, including a Carl Zeiss 180mm/f 2.8 and a Novoflex Novoflexar 600mm F5.6.

The telephotos, especially when on a tripod, have invited all sorts of added civilian paranoia and security hassles.

The Novoflexar may get me shot for being a suspected terrorist so I am very careful where I use it!

They are worth it though, as I really like their ability to abstract the urban environment... and for wildlife.

I try to keep my photographs pretty much as they looked through the viewfinder, with very basic processing.

I don't really know how to manipulate and prefer finding things ready made.

Before getting a little more serious with D SLR , in 2005, I played around with digital infrared.

If you like my photographs ,let me know what they do for you!
