Retired following a thirty-one year career as director of library electronic information services with The California State University Chancellor's Office in Long Beach, California. Early career included work as a securities broker with Stern, Frank, Meyer & Fox in Beverly Hills and, associate specialist with Schweickart & Co. on trading floor of Pacific Coast Stock Exchange in Los Angeles. Also worked as a computer programmer and systems-design analyst for various organizations in the aerospace (North American Aviation, Rockwell Int'l, TRW Systems), life insurance and mutual fund industries (Transamerica Mutual Funds, Equity Funding).

Graduated with a minor in history and major in finance from California State University at Northridge in 1966.

I am over 70+ years of age.

I took up photography as a hobby soon after my retirement in 2004. To increase my knowledge of the art I signed up for courses at a nearby community college and continued taking them for the next five years. I will continue to go back every so often for a refresher but, for now, I simply enjoy taking short trips and exploring the San Francisco Bay/Northern California area for whatever is likely to show up in my viewfinder.

I try to include a written narrative with each of my photographs. They are generally brief and, I hope, add to your enjoyment of the image. You may also get detailed technical information (Exchangeable Image File Format or, EXIF data) by clicking on "More properties" under "Additional Information". However, should you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

PLEASE NOTE: All the images I have posted and share with you on this site are my personal work and the property of Evan Reader with all rights reserved. I ask that you enjoy the images on this site but please don't reproduce, copy, edit, publish, transmit or upload them without my prior notification and permission. If there is an image that you would like to use please contact me via Flickr email and I would be honored and happy to discuss terms of usage. If you intend to use them for yourself or for non-commercial or non-profit use I generally won't mind their use without fee so long as appropriate credit is given. If they are used for commercial or for profit than I would appreciate something for my work. This will only help me to offset some of the expenses I incur from this wonderful hobby.

I also sell prints of select images. Let me know if you see something you would like.

And, finally, a number of viewers have asked me what "Greatest Paka" means. It was some years ago when my, then infant, grand-daughter bestowed that title upon me. Its possible that she was trying to say "Papa", though I'm not her Papa, but that's what came out.....She, and later her little brother, have continued to call me that ever since.
