Since 1996, the Vancouver Island South Film and Media Commission (VISFMC) has been the go-to agency for film productions doing business in Greater Victoria and southern Vancouver Island. As a non-profit film commission, we play an indispensable role in the economic development of the region – helping to generate more than $162-million in direct spending to the Capital Regional District in the last 10 years.
Our job is to brand and promote the Greater Victoria district and Southern Vancouver Island as a spectacular filming destination to national and international markets.
Our mandate is to further the region's competitive position in the world film location market. Thereby creating jobs and fuelling southern Vancouver Island’s economic development.
