The Greater London Authority (GLA) is a strategic authority with a Londonwide role to design a better future for the capital.
At the GLA, we are made up of three core parts:
- The Office of the Mayor of London, led by the current Mayor, Boris Johnson.
- The London Assembly, currently chaired by Darren Johnson.
- The GLA Paid Service, led by Chief Executive, Leo Boland.
While Londoners elect the Mayor and the London Assembly, the GLA Paid Service is a permanent body of staff that provides continuity in the ongoing development and delivery of strategies for London.
We support the work of the Mayor, helping his office to develop and deliver strategies for London. And we support the London Assembly in their role of scrutinising the work of the Mayor and representing the interests of Londoners.
