I enjoy taking photos but seem to have got out of the habit whilst the kids were growing up (except for snapping them). Good to get back to it, but the digital revolution has happened in between!

Choosing a nickname seems to be the hardest part of this social networking. Having been told by my sons that what I had ended up with, having been put on the spot during signing up (sylvia m 2009) was "lame", I suggested that they should come up with something better. This turned out to be more of an insight into how my offspring see me than I needed! The least rude suggestion which seemed to apply to some degree was "bookworm" (perjorative in their case as reading occasionally stops me pandering to their every need) - don't really know where the "pensive" came from after that - I have always enjoyed the sound of some words, and it just rolls around the tongue somehow. I am enjoying imagining the origin of some of the nicknames on this site as much as the photographs.
