Gould Academy prepares academically motivated students for college and helps them to become independent-minded, ethical citizens who will lead lives of purpose, action, excellence, and compassion in a dynamic world. The Academy is a coed college preparatory school located at the eastern edge of the White Mountains in Bethel, Maine. With 245 students and a student: teacher ratio of 5:1, Gould students benefit from teachers who know them well and provide individualized attention. A demanding curriculum, including honors and AP courses in many subjects and comprehensive college counseling prepares Gould students for attendance at the finest colleges and universities. In the dormitories, boarding students benefit from adult dorm faculty who engage students while providing a nurturing, safe environment and caring supervision. Gould offers a full complement of electives and co-curricular activities including, but not limited to, robotics, pottery, blacksmithing, the Farm and Forest program, traditional field sports, and the most on-snow programs of any school in New England.
