From a very early age I was enthralled with photographs. My mother used to sit me down as a very young child with a pile of picture of books and just leave me to it. I would be quiet for hours.
And now I have the chance to make my own photographs rather than just looking at others.
After five years living in the United States I have returned to my home country New Zealand with fresh eyes and new experiences. Nothing looks the same anymore. I see surprise and wonder everywhere.
I have walked away from the big career (scientist) and gone in a different direction. But now I am happier for it.
